IATSE Local 631 does not make a profit, and your payroll does not get split up within the organization. As employees, we cover our operating costs. There are no middlemen. You do not pay a percentage to a labor broker. The benefit percentages go directly to the employees, and because they appreciate the work environment, we see higher productivity. Where we work Local 631 provides highly skilled rigging, carpentry, lighting, audio, wardrobe, hair, and makeup personnel to major venues, producers, and promoters throughout the Central Florida area, including northern Daytona Beach, FL, and Melbourne, FL. Who do we work with We take great pride in our long-term partnerships with groups such as Opera Orlando, Orlando Ballet, Production Resource Group, Walt Disney World, Orlando Philharmonic, Adirondack Scenic, and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, among others. You get what you pay for Some employers focus on the hourly rates and benefits outlined in our contracts and may believe that their production cannot accommodate these costs. However, the experience that IATSE Local 631 crews bring to your project means that fewer crew members can complete the work in less time. Additionally, you won't face the potential damage to your equipment that a non-union crew might cause. Ultimately, you will find that hiring IATSE Local 631 will lead to lower overall costs compared to using non-union personnel.
